                Our family starts with the marriage of Petri Zeimet to Magdalena Eva Loch about 1780 in Zerf Prussia.  On the current map of Germany, Zerf is a small town by the Luxembourg border. Much of what we know about our Germany family has been found in the Catholic Church records from that area.  Many of these records have now been transferred to film and dedicated researchers are compiling the data in ways for the average researcher to use. Of course these records are like all records, they are not complete, and errors do get recorded.

                  One of the researchers compiling this information is Joe Kees at  dojo@gglbbs.com. I  also have purchased a book "Die katholische Pfarrei Sankt Gervasius und Protasius in Irsch an der Saar mit Ockfen und Schoden (1712) 1808 - 1899" by Thomas J. Schmitt.  This book is also a recording of the church records from the area of Irsch, Ockfen and Schoden with family links.  Joe is taking these records a step further in the sorting of the families and also adding later years.

                        I have only been working in the world of Genealogy for a few years and have many others to thank for most of what you will see here.  We need to credit Irene (Zeimet) Millette (1906-1981) for the start of this research.  She spent 40 years collecting information on our family.  The research was taken over by her nieces, Phyllis (Zeimet) Brown and Carol (Zeimet) Reese cjr2433@charter.net.  Phyllis  has spent many hours at the Wisconsin Historical Society sorting through their wonderful records, Carol has worked on sorting and compiling the collected information into a book form and I have used the internet in my research.
